For projects with an output up to 5 kW, we have developed a range of basic agricultural turbines. These turbines have moderate efficiency, are robust and suitable for local manufacture in remote rural areas. To keep the capital cost low, most of these units are totally open with the splash being contained by a masonry or timber enclosure.

Despite the simply construction and low cost, the main components are still designed for long trouble free operation. A horizontal shaft is employed simply to facilitate the connection by belts to agricultural machinery, pumps or generators.
